The best way to buy your ticket depends on the journey you are making.
If you are taking a long distance trip (like Torquay to London) you should buy your ticket in advance to save money, either online or at a station ticket office. Buy up to 12 weeks in advance for the best deals.
If you are taking a shorter trip starting from Dawlish Warren or Starcross, you can buy your ticket on the train. This is because these stations do not have a ticket office or ticket machine. You can buy your ticket on the train from the guard at the normal price.
If you are taking a shorter trip starting from any other station on the Riviera Line, you must buy your ticket at the station before you board the train. This is because these stations have ticket offices and ticket machines.
