Minibeasts might be small but they’re some of our most fascinating creatures – and they can pop up in the most unexpected places.
To celebrate them, children from Dawlish and Teignmouth have made minibeasts from recycled plastic and put them on planters at local railway stations.
You can find a butterfly, dragonfly, bee, ladybird and snail on planters at some of our stations on the Riviera Line. They are at Dawlish, Teignmouth, Newton Abbot, Torquay and Paignton stations.
Thanks to children from Gatehouse Primary School, Dawlish and Sure Start Dad’s Club Stay and Play, Teignmouth who made the Minibeasts with artist Melissa Muldoon.
Keep safe at the station
Railway stations can be very dangerous places if you misbehave so always be on your best behaviour.
When you are waiting for a train at the station you have to wait behind the yellow line on the platform. If a train is coming through the station and it is not stopping, it will be travelling very fast so you need to stand well back from the edge of the platform.
